Welcome to the Patrick McGrath Academy of Irish Dance, offering solo and figure dancing lessons to students ages 5 to Adult. Students of the Academy are provided with instruction on building rhythm, balance, poise and speed in an enjoyable learning environment while developing an appreciation for Irish Music and Dance.
A notorious side of the Irish Dance culture is performance. Students are encouraged to be proud and share what they learn with others. Dancers are given many opportunities to perform in local events and parades. Some students may be eligible to participate in competition through association and lessons from the McGrath Pearson Academy. Students are trained with what they will need to enter an Irish Dance competition (called a Feis, pronounced "fesh"), since lessons are geared towards the Feis syllabi the opportunity to attend a competition is always available and provides a structured goal-driven environment where dancers can see their progress and be rewarded.
Parents and students are encouraged to frequently check the announcements to the right for updates and recent changes. Feel free to browse the site or to drop by a class to observe and ask questions of the instructor or student parents.
Thank you for stopping by and we hope to see you soon!
