The Patrick McGrath Academy is a traditional Irish dance school led by second generation instructor Patrick McGrath. Classes for dancers of all levels ages six and above are offered in Fairfax, Fredericksburg and Stafford, Virginia with added locations in Macon and Warner Robbins, Georgia.
Students of the Patrick McGrath Academy learn solo and group dances in both soft and hard shoes. Dance steps taught will range from traditional Irish step dances passed down through generations to new choreography influenced by the hard driven competitors of the 'Riverdance' generation. Champion level steps have become incredibly athletic and complex compared to those performed only a few decades ago. Determined students can progress to amazing levels performing movements equal to those seen in world famous troupes of Riverdance and Lord of the Dance ...and even endeavor to become a part of those troupes themselves.
The primary focus of the Patrick McGrath Academy is to promote a fun and social form of traditional Irish Dance throughout the community by offering instructional classes and local exhibitions in the Southern Region.
